Gladiator

Spencer McGee
Was happy
As he sat by
A sappy tree

He dreamed
Of being a Gladiator
which was better
Than being a Sadiator

He would fight for happiness
With his make-believe manliness

He could picture
His opponent's craftiness
As well as the winds
Familiar draftiness

The crowds would cheer
As they saw Spencer’s classiness
Within the ring
That was a bit cavernous

He smiled and waved
At the end
With his goal
Achieved again

The Tube

Deep down in that tube
Where the water flows and sits
And ice sometimes freezes inside

In the middle of the tube
There is a crack that can be mended
But it only grows larger, if it is not attended

In the middle of the tube
Where there lies a crack
Can only be fixed from the inside
For if someone tried to look at the outside
The tube would break in two

As this tube breaks
Waiting for its plumber
Leaks for a better summer

Secrets

Every night
And every day
They hide in the dark

I grab mine every time
 It walks away
But you let yours go

Wherever it hides
I promise I will keep it

I dream in neon green

I dream
In a green
So neon, it’s hard to see

The more you focus
The more it fades
And I am left bewildered
