The land of Nelm

In a dark room
Where just a sliver of light shines
I close my eyes
And go to the land of Nelm

In the land of Nelm
 Where all kids play
I sit for hours, just to watch
 The green grass grow
Without a patch of brown that stays

In the land of Nelm
Where all kids play
And flowers nod to say good day
 The sun looks down
 And smiles at me

In the land of Nelm
Where all are free
Soft melodies play
In distant waves

In the land of Nelm
Where all are free
I’m woken from my wonderful dream
By some distant yelling, down the way

I thought that I was distraught
But I was told that dinner was still hot

The Light Side

As each day goes by
And I do my daily stroll through
The pavement and trees in the park each day
Always seems to melt away

With my consciousness
And a swirl of all the objects around me
The outside world slowly drips out of my fingers
Until I have reached the light side

I see the gradient lonely road
It leads up to a neighborhood of houses
Each resident greets with a smile
Even if they’ve only been here awhile

In the light side
The children laugh and play
The whiteness that surrounds them
 Sometimes seems so gray

The pleasure that places bring
Can seem like every early spring
But every good of every place
Always has its glaze of debase

Ride The Wind

In the high mountains
Where heat is your only companion
A man stands at the mountain's edge
Looking into the distance, he jumps off

As nature is always kind
And tries best to serve humans
The wind was sent, from that great place
Where it is all controlled

The man was picked up
His legs between the floating wind drifts
He was carried all the way home
He thanked the wind

The door was opened
 By the man's only son
Who welcomed his dad with a hug
And both went inside with one last stare at the wind

The four travelers

As the white sand stands
And the blue waves rush
 There sits four travelers
Amongst the land, where all is hushed

In the land of pink haven
Where falcons soar
And legend says
That a sea serpent roars

The four travelers
As they look at the sky
That is the most beautiful pink
 That meets the eye
Hold hands as if to die

White clouds that roam around
Are now nowhere to be found
The travelers have left
The colored land, as well as all the sand

As the travelers look back
 At where they were
 They might come back
But not for sure

By the way

Out by the way
On a cold snowy day
The kids came to play
With the Sky’s dark array

Running and jumping
Over the snow covered hills
They soon got the chills
And were all not so thrilled

So with a sleigh in their arms
And snow on their backs
They made some more tracks

Down at the river
The trees even shivered
From a breeze so cold
The kids thought they would freeze.

So with a skip and a jump
And one or two thumps
They all felt at ease
In the homes sweet heat

Mount nevermore

As the boulders fall
And the citizens move
To avoid the ever crumbling floor
Of mount nevermore

There’s a hut
Atop the mountain
Which belongs to a young boy
Who’s on the run
From the past

He tries to escape
 His memories and fears
His hut, which stands
Brings tears, the joy it brings
Makes the boy want to sing

He is faced with a problem
Since he cannot talk
He sits atop the ever-crumbling floor
Of Mount Nevermore

The mountain so high
And so strong
Can lift an infinite amount of weight
But crumbles at the sorrow of others
That is one thing this mountain can’t lift

The boy with many problems
Which crumbles the mountain floor
Of the much-loved mount nevermore
Leaves his hut, which slowly fades

He looks for another mountain
In hopes of only a friend

Ode to the sun

As the bright sky rises
And the dark sky falls
A ball of light joins

He looks around
With his eyes fixed upon
The hurried people
That just move on

With their minds
So fumbled
On some business that seems
 Like mumbo jumbo

The sun always smiling
Wish he could say
 That for every good person
There comes a good day

The Gift of Darkness

It comes in blind
And seems to stay
The dimness it brings
Turns to gray

Then gray to black
Or so it seems
The dark is empty
Just like dreams

The dark it gazes
Over  all
It stays in seasons
Even Fall

The dark seems evil
At first sight
But we forget that even darkness
Brings forth light

Looking now
Through the dark space
Brings me happiness
For better days

The Burning Tree

There was a tree
In the old town
It bloomed in the spring
Before it burned down

There were few who knew
What caused it to fume

The tree of Old Town
Started life small
But as it grew older
It became tall

The tree would shake
From the wind
Whose strength made the tree
Feel like it was skinned

The tree was made weaker
So life looked bleaker
Yet all its fellow trees
Seemed to avoid its needs

The tree grew sad
For no friends it had
So when life got bad
It became nothing but mad

It was hollow inside
Because of the feelings to hide
There was no guide
To help it to speak its mind

So the anger just grew
Till it started to fume

The fire just spread
Like butter on bread
Till the tree
Was nothing but dead

It seems to me
That not all is free
As I think of this tree
That now is debris

Ode to the Earth

I see the air
And feel the breeze
It gives a whistle
As it hits the trees

The wind is felt
by birds and bees
It even helps boats
To sail the seas

I feel the water
Pure and strong
It flows in rivers
On and on

Its beauty lies
through all the earth
And gives sea creatures
life and birth

I smell the fire
As it burns
The flame it quickens
And it turns

It can give people
Quite a fright
Or it can
Give warmth and light

I feel the dirt
beneath my feet
And taste the fruit
From fresh trees

Earth it seems
To be a gift
One in which
Time is swift

So let us live
In love and peace
And always give
Without cease

The glowing ball

Far away into the dark sky,
Where all stars twinkle,
And asteroids go on their endless walks,
There lives a glowing ball,

The glowing ball
With no twin for company
Watches the lunar activity around it
With the occasional twist

To some of the viewers
From the earth
Their ball seems like, just another circle
In their plain life

The big glowing ball
Looks down to earth
With its crater eyes
And sees something greater

He sees that in every individual
There lies a glow
That can become brighter
Than all the lights in the sky

Alone By The Lake

As I walk through the leaf covered path
Where pine’s of old
And pine’s of new
Surround my one-way trail

I come to a lake so blue
That it could not become discolored
The lake with small waves, from the wind
Cease to move the astonishing view

I touch the water
Ripples form just to disappear
Like hopes and dreams
That can be brought back

As I wake from my mesmerization
That held me in place, by the lake
I stand up from that spot
And walk back to the cabin

The trees seem to shake
As if to tell me something
Nature as I say
Always has its way
