The Morning Blues

There was a young girl with clown tears

That were not a result of her fears

The clowns got in her head

And many tears they did shed

As she pulled them right out of her ears

The Sting of Defeat

There was a man surrounded by bees

From his head right down to his knees

They swirled and they stung

His hands and his tongue

But that’s what can happen in trees

The Yeti

There once was a snow-covered yeti

Whose house was made of funfetti

This project he made

Just wiggled and swayed

Till it was eaten by his neighbor Betty

Gray

You might wonder
What you’ll be
Where you’ll go
Or what you’ll see

Black and white or even gray
You can see things any way
You can see in thoughts or dreams
You can see most anything

You can stay on land or sea
You can go through space or air
You can go most anywhere

From January to New Year’s Eve
You’ll be great if you believe

The Magician

The magician, he wore a black hat
That he reached into and pulled out a cat
Who was juggling two balls and a rat

Next, he pulled out a bat
Who wore a yellow hard hat
But because of the weight, it fell flat

With a look of confusion
He thought this must be illusion
At least that was our conclusion

It was really quite funny
He pulled everything out
Except for the bunny

The Young Man with a Sack

There was a young man with a sack
That covered his head and his back
In the sack, he did run
Over the hills in the sun
Till he crashed into a large wooden shack

The Social Grapevine

There once were some grapes on a vine
Who thought they were totally kind
But they gossiped all day
About the other grapes weight
So they were finally turned into wine

Sports

The school I’m in just won’t have sports
Not Football, Cheer, or Track
It’s not because they aren’t fun
It’s because the field is cracked

They told me other sports won’t do
Not Baseball, Golf, or Dance
You’ll just get injured right and left
Because they’re so advanced

We could have a game of basketball
With rally’s full of pep
It does sound fun they finally said
But who’d do all the prep?

Ezra Teach

It was said since he was two
Beware of Abigail and her crooked crew
I cannot tell what they will do
If they happen to run into you

They could turn you into stew
Or cover you up with sticks of glue
They could make your skin a shade of blue
Or cage you up with some bamboo

Years had passed and the warnings too
But Ezra Teach was tried and true
Till all his friends left him at a zoo
For something that he didn’t do

So Ezra Teach went to the beach
Because his happiness felt out of reach
He laid in the sand next to some bleach
Which someone left or failed to reach

A shadow grew and then stood still
As Ezra froze and got the chills
A young lady smiled on the beach
And handed him a nice fresh peach

Her hat and coat adorned her so
Their red and white gave her a glow
As her braided blond hair
With the wind did flow

Ezra though just small and thin
Could do nothing but slightly grin
I’m sorry that your friends have left
It must be hard for one so deft

My name is Captain Abigail
No doubt you’ve heard some false tale
Or else you wouldn’t be so pale

She held out her white-gloved hand
And pulled dear Ezra off the sand
This probably is not what you had planned
But we’d love to have you in our band

Camilla

Camilla, Camilla lived in a large villa
With her small friend, who was a chinchilla
They had a large pool
That looked really cool
And that was guarded by a blow-up gorilla

Camilla, Camilla lost her armilla
As she filled up the pool with a ton of vanilla
She went in with a dive
And was mixed in for five
People now wonder if Camilla’s vanilla or vanilla’s Camilla

Got stuck inside a brown shiny Brogue

Why We’re Hungry

There once was a young boy named Greg
Who ate a whole dinosaur egg
It went down with a crunch
As he ate it for lunch
And now he has started to beg

Why am I hungry all the time?
He asked as he heard the bells chime
My stomach feels a wiggling patch
That’s because the dinosaur hatched
And now it just wants to dine

Greg met a small fairy
While he was having some dairy
And asked what he should do
She said it’s not true
The egg you ate was Cadbury

Windy Wendy

It all started
When I ate my cereal
Something big
And quite ethereal

I floated up
Right through the ceiling
And when it happened
I had no feeling

The wind picked me up
Up through the clouds
And way in the sky
It was quite loud

I had always thought
It would be quite airy
But when I looked down
It all looked scary

The buildings got smaller
And the sun got much taller
I’m glad I’m a floater
And not a faller

The wind took me down
Slowly and lightly
And with each second
My fear left slightly

As the buildings got bigger
And the people did too
I smiled with joy
That my fear was all through

The Queen of Spades

There’s a land far away
Where the sky turns to gray
Which I hope you’ll never find

Only those who do stray
Will find their way
To the kingdom of the night

In the castle lives Jade
The young Queen of spades
Who just wishes she had some light

Throughout all the halls
Her dresses and walls
Seem only to be black and white

But the kingdom across
Never feels lost
Because of their radiant light

Both the Queen and attendants
Are viewed with resplendence
And feel like there is nothing they lack

So with hearts full of love
And a kingdom of doves
They sent young Jade an invite

The Queen of Spades came quickly
Avoiding the wandering animals
That were so prickly

Resplendent Attendants greeted her warmly
Sitting her down and telling her stories

Jade, Queen of Spades
Felt out of place
With all the colorful space

When she returned to her home
She smiled at the glow
That was new and in rows

The Queen of Hearts
That Master of Arts
Gave Jade her light

Lies

The teacher said don’t lie you hear
You’ll bump your head
You’ll cut your ear

Don’t cheat on any of the tests
The guilt will take away your rest
And you never will become your best

Don’t you give me any sass
You’ll slip and fall on the grass
And I’ll even keep you after class

All these things seem pretty cruel
And I don’t want to stay after school

Meat and Greet

I walked into a meet and greet
Where there were tons of tables
With treats to eat

Charming churros lay on a table
Next to doughnuts that were labeled
Across the street stood the snow cones
And each looked great on their own

The whole thing really seemed complete
But soon I realized the meeting was discrete
Held on such a tiny street

There were no people I could greet
Or any neat meats to eat

Elise and the Beast

Young Elise lived in the woods
Where her house and garden stood
Each plant and flower loved their aura
Except the lonely Mandragora

Elise loved her pets
Like the dog she called Bret
And her fowl she called owl
Who wore a strange cowl

Bret, he did scowl
As the cowled owl flew in on their feast
Alarming them all
Of the terrible beast

The beast came in quickly
Blowing his fire
Which highlighted brightly
His ghastly attire

They ran and they ran
Through grass and through sand
And the cold winter wind
Made the young Elise Spin

Till she fell fast asleep
Underneath the green trees
Dreaming of the beast
With a heart that’s so hardened
He had burned the whole garden

Young Elise woke up quickly
And turned her friends around
To her house in the woods
So she could feel that fresh ground

Bret he did fret
And the cowled owl did scowl
But Elise knew her quest well
To fight and to quell

The beast he was there
With his dark fiery stare
But Elise was not scared

She jumped through the window
And pushed the beast out
But was saddened inside
When she saw the beast pout

“I just wanted a home
Somewhere to stop from my roam
All I do is I scare
Leaving places unshared”

Elise filled with love
Gave him a hug
And they both had hot chocolate
In fancy white mugs
