Jumpin’ Jack

Jumpin’ Jack
Was quite a quack
He wore loose shirts
And tight slacks

There was not much
That Jack lacked
His confidence
Was quite in tact

He met a witch
Who had an itch
But she got mad
When he called her twitch

So she cursed him
And now he’s always jumpin’

Jack’s jumpin’
When he’s reaching for somethin’
Or when he talks
And when he walks

Yes Jumpin’ Jack
Can’t look back
If he does
He might get whacked

Dough

English, the language
Goes high and low
With misconceptions
Like the word dough

When I hear the word dough
I do want to know
What they mean

Are you talking about the doe
with four feet
That hides in the bushes
And blends with the trees

There is also the dough
That makes cookies to eat
That can end up as well
Quite salty and sweet

Or the dough that is green,
that is small, and for buying
Which people do use
for bribes and for lying

Yes, there are many different types of dough
It all seems a bit confusing though

You’re Not Alone

If you are lost
Or ever get afraid
Because of this confusing world
That always tries to make us fade

Look on the horizon
You’ll see that I will be there
I will tell you everything’s okay

When you start falling
From some troubles made
I’ll be there to catch you
So don’t hesitate

When that rain cloud comes
And darkness too
Just know there will always be light to guide you

When it’s hard to breath
And tears stream down your face
Just know you’re not alone
There are always friends back home

Even though there are hundreds
We all act as one
I know we can make it
All or none
I just want you to know
You were never alone

Candy Land

One night
When the sun had gone down
And the wind welcomed itself
To the small city park

A boy sat
On the cold wooden park bench
Listening and looking

While his mind wandered elsewhere
He heard a sound
Not from the ground
But from the sky

Lights flashed
As The Dream Trail
slowly lowered itself
onto the ground

The train doors opened
and the boy was welcomed on

The conductor smiled
And said

It’s good we have you handy
I’m sure you’ll find our destination
Quite dandy
Because we are going to the land of candy

When the train arrived
The conductor advised
To go unwind
But the boy didn’t hear
He was mesmerized

Purple and pink
Yellow and blue
There were so many
Things to chew

The lake was made of melted marshmallows
The clouds were cotton candy
It all seemed
Oh so fancy

The boy walked to the store
We have chocolate pies
And chocolate fries
What really caught your eye

He looked around
And to his surprise
Found himself a chocolate tie

The Boy walked out
Much more thrilled
As he looked at the ice cream hills

The trees were delicious
Their branches made of licorice
While the trunks were divine
As they were made out of red vines

The street
Looked sweet
To eat
Its chocolate glaze complete

The houses were not wispy
They were made of Rice Krispies

With a stomach much more full
And a very tired brain
The boy got back on the train
And they flew away

The Magic Train

There was a magic train
That pleased all who knew it
Those who missed it
Felt they blew it

The Dream Trail
Is its name
Few have seen it
Despite its fame

It has no tracks
But finds its way
To each lost soul
Who needs it that day

It floats in misty fog
And flies through cloudy skies
But the real best part
Is the trains fresh apple pies

There is a conductor
Who knows it all too well
He has been there
Since it first began
In a far off deserted land

Alex belle is his name
When he sees a passenger
He tells them
He is glad they came

Then there is the driver
Who built the dream trail
With her hands
To take others to far off lands

Her name is Ally Bodaire
Her face is pale and fair
For in that deserted land
She was a princess there

So she finds those in trouble
Who need a helping hand
And takes them far away
Into their dream land

She said within her heart
That straight from the start
She would help others
To experience the best parts

Hairy Larry

There was a man
Or so they suppose
Who wanted just someone
He could give a red rose

The man’s name was Larry
That part is true
He was very young
Just thirty-two

But Larry, oh Larry
Who worked on a Ferry
Could not get the girl
Because he was scary

He would have loved to have shared
But nobody cared
Because they all judged the man
Who was covered in hair

One day on the ferry
A girl talked with Larry
She said you have quite a burden
One hard to carry

I have a good ship
One that sails well
You can come ride on it
With me, Abigail

I have a good crew
They’re faithful and true
And I guarantee
They’ll be good to you too

One-Eyed Frank

One-eyed Frank
Worked at a bank
It was in his nature
To give lots of thanks

There was one day
Where he went to the bay
Where the young kids played

He got left alone
He lost his car
And his home
So all he really could do
Was to roam

He sat down and thought
And remembered
All the things that he forgot

His property was stolen
And he felt very sad
The situation seemed very grave
But what Frank did
Was he forgave

It was at this time
That he was in a field
And he just felt
He needed a shield

Not one made of wood
Or of a physical substance
But a friend
Who could give him help

He looked at a nearby tree
Where he saw that it was she
A woman in a red dress
That had white frills at the bottom
and on the sleeves

Hello, my name is Abigail
It seems you have quite the tale
Life has a cost
And that means feeling lost

It is darkness
That blinds us in our time of need
But it also leads to the light
It is my hope
That you are alright

I have a boat
That sails the seas
I would love to have you
If you please

Pegleg Gregory

Pegleg Gregory
Hid in a barrel
From a cat that was feral
For she liked his apparel

Gregory wore a bandana
In his own cabana
And ate fresh bananas

He pulled out his sword
When the captain gave the word

He looked down at his barrel well
And realized that his movements failed
With some shaking the barrel fell
And rolled right to the islands sale

Pegleg Gregory
With one big swallow
Had found out
That the cat had followed

He grabbed his leg
Still in the barrel
To steady himself

He waved goodbye to his Cabana
And to his dear sister
 Sweet Savanna

When he got to The Curdled Whale
He told his story in great detail
Of how he had lost his leg

It was that cat
The ungrateful blighter
That lit his leg
With a small lighter

It burned until
He couldn’t stand it
And he lost his job
As a bandit

That is where she found me
Yes, Captain Abigail gave me an offer
That confounded me

You have lost your leg
I see
But you can be a pirate
If you come with me

The Tale of Pirate Pierre and Cutthroat Davis

This is the tale of Pirate Pierre and Cutthroat Davis
They drank cold soda as they sailed the waves
Their captain was a sight to see
because a woman indeed was she
They rode the waves and reached the shore, of an island never seen before

The people there shouted yay, thinking they were saved today.
Pirate Pierre and Cutthroat Davis, who were pirates, yes, in times of yore
went and stole from the island store
They left the store not too barren, with the ungrateful teenage manager Karen

“We have flank steak,” the pirates cheered
The captain turned and gave a sneer
“I’m on a diet, can’t you see it’s fruit that will prevent scurvy” the captain shouted
“It’s not too late to break,” one pouted
“It deserves the plank”
so the pirates threw it off all crowded

Pirate Pierre and Cutthroat Davis tried to sneak
but they couldn’t walk down without a creak
From the store, a broom they took and hid it in the ships nook
The broom they took to clean the floor, although chores are such a bore
For gold and silver take up space
but still are carried from place to place

Pierre and Davis heard a crash
as they pictured their boat smashed
They climbed up ship where they met the captain
 although she was not laughing

They got off board and reached the Tavern, where Cutthroat said
“This rocky place looks like a Cavern”
The Pirates went to the bartender
who had a smile full of splendor

“Do you have a cup of Ginger ale? I’m as thirsty as a whale”
“We’ve been searching for miles and miles, for a drink with some style”
“Do you think the captain would like some tea” A crew member turned
“I think she would prefer IBC”
The pirates went and grabbed their fill
with two IBC’s for the thrill

The pirates stepped aboard The Curdled Whale
named by Captain Abigail
Cutthroat coming from the rock, went to the captain's room
where she asked, “don’t you knock?”

He set the root beer on the desk, but captain Abigail said
“We are not finished yet”
Her hat was red like her coat
Her pistols filled and ready
“I just remembered my spaghetti,” He said leaving

With a smirk, she remembered how her father used to lurk
The thought of her father drove her crazy
She walked on deck saying
“fix the ship you lazy”

“We pirates have no fear, with some wood we can leave this peer”
With a nod and a grunt, the Pirates went on a hunt
In the forest, they found some wood
faster than they thought they could

Pirate Pierre used the ax while the crew just relaxed
They carried the wood to The Whale where it was fixed
Abigail went and searched with a creak

“I hope there are no inadequacies”
So they sailed again at first light
though the morning couldn’t feel more bright

Cutthroat pulled a map from his pocket
Which was stolen from Jim Tocket

Jim, who worked the canons
 When he found out
 Was angrier than salmon

“Let's hunt for treasure on Green Island, as you know it’s all on dry land”
So they sailed the sea and looked at Jim who was filled with much chagrin
“What’s wrong,” Pierre asked
“The cannons are empty”
“It’s okay, on Green Island we’ll get twenty”

So they arrived and dug for their treasure
 Where there was so much
 It was without measure
