The Danger of College Delicacies

Sloppy Stan woke up again
In his apartment near the newsstand
To see his roommate Sticky Steve
Just shout out loud “It’s Christmas eve!”
But this time of year was not filled with glee
Because when Sloppy Stan and Sticky Steve would appear
The girls would leave

So, they developed an affection for confection
Which at first, came without detection
And the taste, oh the taste was perfection
But after a while, they lost direction
And started to slow their progression

When the chocolate was gone
And they thought they were through
The boxes and wrappers were thrown
But not far, seeing how much they had grown

So they got in the car and began to drive
And traveled to be served
But the snow, oh the snow made them swerve

After Sloppy Stan and Sticky Steve returned
With candy in hand
they came to realize they couldn’t stand

We see from this poem
Because they had no sweeties
They failed to make a treaty
And came down with diabetes

The Tragedy of Gnome Peter

Poor Gnome Peter came down with a fever.
But nobody helped, me neither.
So he went to his friend The Grim Reaper
Who was filled with the silence of a griever

Gnome Peter told him his tale of woe.
He had no home, and was laughed at by the other Garden Gnomes.
His hat was crooked and his knees were bruised by grass.
He needed to do something, and it had to be fast.

Gnome Peter tried to walk
But he couldn’t
no, not even a meter

So he sat down and cried
Because no matter how hard he tried
He felt like he had died

The Grim Reaper put his hand around Peter and said
“You are special, yes you are a leader.”

The Search: A Ballad

The sky was black with no stars to shine
So the trees were perfect to hide behind
The only light came from the dream trail
A train of magic to make dreams shine
Ally stood at the front to drive and guide
But her thoughts were far, far, behind
She thought of her father, who she thought had died
But now she was searching to love and to find

The dream trail flew through the sky
The black-hearted shadowy sky
But hope was still there with Ally
No matter how low or how high
She smiled at the forest below and waved goodbye
But adventure was ahead, and it would be wonderful
Even if there was no Wi-Fi
In a place that is so colorful

The world can be a magical place
With beauty surrounding every tiny space
It all depends on how we see it
We can go on a journey at a nice pace
Or you could lose focus and make it a race

With the suns rising she set to the seas
And was refreshed by the oceans fresh breeze
She talked with her sister, but received only grief
But she would not stop, not by degrees
Nor by anything that makes you freeze
Ally knew her time was brief
So she sped up the dream trail, with the help of the breeze
And reached a place where there was no reef

Ally stepped in front of what looked like an ice palace
And up above was the aurora borealis
The Northern lights swirled like a dream
She stepped inside and saw a chalice
That was grabbed by a man that had no malice
He had a drink as he touched a beam
“You are here, Alice”
The voice was soft like water flowing down a stream

“The world can be a magical place
With beauty surrounding every tiny space
It all depends on how we see it
We can go on a journey at a nice pace
Or you could lose focus and make it a race”

He put his hand around her and took her outside
But all she wondered was why did he hide
“Father, it’s been so long”
The king looked at her eyes
And he started to cry
Because he too, thought she was gone

A Teachers Desire

Art of the pun 101
Where kids will have so much fun
I’ll teach them to joke
So they can joke with the folks
And believe in the art of the pun

The Oni

On dark nights
When the thunder claps
And winged birds
Cease to flap

He hides where you can’t see
If you want a friend
That’s what he will never be

In closets or in plain sight
He will transform
For peace or fright

He wields his club
Like a badge of honor
And if you get hit
You’ll be a goner

His horns are polished
Like a trophy
Which he received
For no fee

The demon will haunt you
With its skin so blue
Searching for power
And searching for you

The Oni will cause such a scare
Your fear will glue you
To your chair
