One night
When the sun had gone down
And the wind welcomed itself
To the small city park
A boy sat
On the cold wooden park bench
Listening and looking
While his mind wandered elsewhere
He heard a sound
Not from the ground
But from the sky
Lights flashed
As The Dream Trail
slowly lowered itself
onto the ground
The train doors opened
and the boy was welcomed on
The conductor smiled
And said
It’s good we have you handy
I’m sure you’ll find our destination
Quite dandy
Because we are going to the land of candy
When the train arrived
The conductor advised
To go unwind
But the boy didn’t hear
He was mesmerized
Purple and pink
Yellow and blue
There were so many
Things to chew
The lake was made of melted marshmallows
The clouds were cotton candy
It all seemed
Oh so fancy
The boy walked to the store
We have chocolate pies
And chocolate fries
What really caught your eye
He looked around
And to his surprise
Found himself a chocolate tie
The Boy walked out
Much more thrilled
As he looked at the ice cream hills
The trees were delicious
Their branches made of licorice
While the trunks were divine
As they were made out of red vines
The street
Looked sweet
To eat
Its chocolate glaze complete
The houses were not wispy
They were made of Rice Krispies
With a stomach much more full
And a very tired brain
The boy got back on the train
And they flew away
