Pegleg Gregory

Pegleg Gregory
Hid in a barrel
From a cat that was feral
For she liked his apparel

Gregory wore a bandana
In his own cabana
And ate fresh bananas

He pulled out his sword
When the captain gave the word

He looked down at his barrel well
And realized that his movements failed
With some shaking the barrel fell
And rolled right to the islands sale

Pegleg Gregory
With one big swallow
Had found out
That the cat had followed

He grabbed his leg
Still in the barrel
To steady himself

He waved goodbye to his Cabana
And to his dear sister
 Sweet Savanna

When he got to The Curdled Whale
He told his story in great detail
Of how he had lost his leg

It was that cat
The ungrateful blighter
That lit his leg
With a small lighter

It burned until
He couldn’t stand it
And he lost his job
As a bandit

That is where she found me
Yes, Captain Abigail gave me an offer
That confounded me

You have lost your leg
I see
But you can be a pirate
If you come with me
